Overview
Why choose grind & seal
A grind and seal is the simplest way to turn a tired slab into a finished floor — understated, durable and easy to live with.
We diamond-grind the concrete to remove the weak, dusty top layer and any old coatings, refine the surface with progressively finer diamonds, then apply a sealer that dust-proofs the slab and helps resist stains.
Choosing the look
The amount of grinding sets the character of the floor. A light grind keeps a smooth, cream-coloured finish; a deeper grind exposes more of the stone aggregate in the concrete. Sealers range from a natural matte look to a satin sheen.
Indoor or outdoor
Grind and seal works well in industrial-style interiors, rentals and garages, and outside on alfresco areas, paths and driveways, where we use UV-stable sealers made for sun exposure. It is also a good option where a full resin system isn’t needed.

Prep & grind
We diamond-grind the slab to open the surface, remove old sealers or adhesive, and test for moisture before anything is applied.

Repair
Cracks, chips and joints are filled and ground flush so imperfections do not telegraph through the finish.

Refine
Progressively finer diamonds hone the surface to the smoothness and level of exposure you have chosen.

Seal
A penetrating or topical sealer is applied to dust-proof the slab and help resist stains. UV-stable options are used outdoors.

Cure & handover
The sealer is left to cure and we walk you through simple care so the floor stays easy to live with.
